Silent setup for NetMan Desktop Client
You can distribute the NetMan Desktop Client without messages using a so-called silent setup.
To create a silent setup for the NetMan Desktop Client, please follow the following instructions:
- Start the setup.exe over Start -> Run from %NMHome%\Config\Client\Setup with the parameter /r: "Setup.exe /r". The installation will be carried out.
- In the Windows directory a Setup.iss is created.
- Move this file to the setup directory.
- If you then execute setup.exe with the parameter /s, no messages will be displayed.
Hint: The NetMan 3 Setup also installs an ISS file, that you can find in %NMHome%\Config\Client\Setup\Install.
IMPORTANT: The ISS file, that can be found in the setup directory, is the basis for the automatic update of the clients. It is advisable to create a new directory into which you can then copy the setup files and the corresponding ISS file, that you have either created yourself or to be found in the ...\Install directory.Hint: You would carry out a corresponding procedure to create an ISS file for the deinstallation. A corresponding ISS file is already installed and can be found in the subdirectory ...\Deinstall.
Hint: Please be aware that the silent setup is not an integral part of NetMan 3! This function is provided by InstallShield. Insofar we can only offer limited support for any problems that might occur here.
